OUR TILE INSTALLATION PROCESS

Tile installation is one of our many specialties! Our experts have the experience and the tools needed to do the job right to your exact specifications while keeping you informed and in the know about tile care once the job is done.

On the day of the installation, expect to be home to answer questions and to oversee the process as the installation crew works. It is also helpful to conduct a walkthrough of the area with the installers while also discussing floor removal and subfloor requirements. Tile requires special preparation of the subfloor, so our professionals will want to ensure the subfloor is completely clean and flat. We might also fix a water-resistant backer board to the subfloor.

Once this happens, we will determine the tile layout. Using chalk lines as a guide, we'll spread thin-set mortar and place the tiles. We use spacers to make sure tile is evenly placed. Then, grout is applied.

Once the installation is complete, wait at least 48 hours before walking on your new flooring so that the grout can set completely. Do not allow tile to get wet during this time. Afterwards, if you have questions about floor maintenance, we would be happy to answer them for you.
